About Shree Nemi Art Export

Handcrafted furniture from the heart of Jodhpur since 2005

Our Story

The Practice of Making

Shree Nemi Art Export is based in Jodhpur, India, and makes handcrafted, design-driven furniture. Rooted in South Asian Modernism, our collections include re-editions of significant 20th century designs from the region, as well as contemporary objects created in collaboration with acclaimed furniture and textile designers.

What began in 2005 as a small workshop has grown into a respected name in the global handcrafted furniture industry, with our pieces now adorning homes, hotels, and boutique spaces across more than thirty countries. Our journey has always been guided by a single philosophy: that furniture is not merely functional, but a vessel of heritage. Each piece we craft carries the cumulative knowledge of generations of Indian woodworkers, refined through modern techniques and quality controls to meet international standards.

Combining age-old skills with modernist design, we create timeless pieces that go beyond the aesthetic. Every stage of production is carried out by skilled human hands — from wood sourcing and prototyping, through carpentry, cane weaving, upholstery and wood finishing, to final quality control and packing. We work exclusively with solid hardwoods — teak, oak, acacia, sheesham, rosewood, and reclaimed timber — sourced responsibly from sustainable plantations and reclaimed sources.

Beyond manufacturing, we pride ourselves on being a reliable export partner. Our team handles every stage of the export process — from raw material selection to finished packaging, customs documentation, and sea freight forwarding. We understand the demands of international B2B trade, and our processes are built to deliver consistent quality at scale, on time, every time.

Our Process

Stages of Making

Each piece passes through the hands of specialists at every stage of production.

1

Wood Sourcing

Solid hardwoods — teak, oak, acacia, sheesham — sourced responsibly from sustainable plantations and reclaimed sources.

2

R&D / Prototyping

Each design is developed through extended prototyping. Refinements are made until the form, comfort and joinery are resolved.

3

Carpentry

Traditional mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joinery, hand-fitted by master carpenters who have practiced their craft for decades.

4

Cane Weaving

Hand-woven cane seats and backs, done by master weavers using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

5

Upholstery

Hand-stitched upholstery with natural fibre fabrics, hand-tied springs and replaceable cushions designed for a long service life.

6

Wood Finishing

Multiple coats of natural oil, wax or lacquer, hand-rubbed to bring out the grain and protect the wood for decades.

7

QC & Packing

Rigorous inspection for finish, joints, dimensions and overall quality. ISPM-15 compliant packaging for export shipping.

8

Export

Complete export documentation, customs handling, and freight forwarding to your nearest port or door delivery.

What Drives Us

Our Values

Craft Integrity

We never compromise on materials or methods. Every joint, every finish, every detail is executed with care, because shortcuts in craft inevitably show in the final piece.

Sustainability

Wood is a renewable resource only if managed responsibly. We prioritize reclaimed timber, plantation-grown woods, and finishes that minimize environmental impact.

Global Standards

Our processes, packaging, and documentation meet international export standards. We are ISPM-15 compliant for wooden packaging and handle all required certifications.

Partnership

Whether you are an individual buyer, an interior designer, a retailer, or a hospitality group, we treat every project as a partnership built on transparent communication.

Master Artisans

Hands Behind the Work

Our workshop is home to artisans who have practiced their craft for decades — some inheriting their skills across three generations. From the carpenter who first studies each plank of wood to understand its grain, to the carver whose hands translate intricate designs into reality, to the finisher who hand-rubs each surface to a perfect luster, every stage of production is carried out by skilled human hands.

We invest in our artisans through fair wages, safe working conditions, and continuous skill development. We believe that the soul of handcrafted furniture comes from the people who make it, and preserving their craft is essential to our identity.
